Fantastic afternoon tea with a huge selection of cakes, delicious fruit scones and savoury selection. Included unlimited hot drinks too. Great value for money compared to other local venues. Staff were very friendly and attentive for our large table
Easily one of the best afternoon teas I've experienced! Fantastic service from Josie who was so attentive and friendly. The food was lovely, unique but delicious combinations, plus they bought out a special birthday plate which was really kind. 10/10, thank you Josie!
The Orangery is a restaurant/café within Delapre Abbey grounds. If you are walking from the car park, then just go around to the right of the main buildings. We had a southern fried chicken burger which was delicious. Would highly recommend a meal or just coffee and a cake. They also do cream tea, which I have not had but am told is good. You may need to book this in advance. This restaurant is popular and always busy. We were here mid week at around 11:30 and all the tables were full. There is free parking at Delapre Abbey, and some nice walks and a walled garden, if you want to work up an appetite or burn off the calories. Would definitely recommend the Orangery.
We called in yesterday during a rather wet cycle ride for a coffee. The indoor seating is classy and comfortable, and we probably dampened it whilst we were there. We simply opted for a couple of hot drinks, but there is an extensive menu to choose from. I've often dined here at breakfast time, and the food is excellent. The service was great and the staff were friendly.
I took my mum for a birthday treat to the special Dickens afternoon tea in the Library and it was excellent! A really creative selection of food, great setting and contributions from Ebenezer Scrooge added to a different from the average afternoon tea. The amaretto and cranberry cocktail with a sprig of rosemary was great too!
Nice afternoon tea including salmon, egg and ham bread was also nice quite a few cakes and lovely scones with jam and real cream unlimited tea and filtered coffee well worth the money in my opinion.
Breath taking view of the grounds from the cafe. It was a Sunday afternoon and it was fairly crowded. Did not have any problem with seating. Very baby and mummy friendly. Food is really very tasty. Portions are very good. Tasted very fresh. Overall the ambience is cosy. There are disable access bathrooms too. You can take a walk around the grounds after.
